Palmeraie, Marrakech

The Palmeraie stretches northeast of Marrakech across several thousand hectares of date palms, some of which, according to local tradition, date back to the Almoravid era. Today it's the reference neighborhood for high-end villas: large walled properties, each with its own planted garden and private pool, fully shielded from view.

Guests come here for space and quiet — a total contrast to the buzz of the Medina, about 15 to 20 minutes away by car. The area also concentrates several 18-hole golf courses (including Palmeraie Golf Palace and Amelkis), making it popular with groups and extended families after calm, sport, and plenty of outdoor space for children.

Staying in the Palmeraie means planning for a car or organized transfers: shops and restaurants downtown are a short drive away, not a walk. That's the trade-off for a setting where you can genuinely go a whole stay without seeing a neighbor.
