Route de l'Ourika

Route de l'Ourika, Marrakech

Large estates with Atlas mountain views, just outside the city.

The Ourika road (P2017) heads southeast from Marrakech toward the Atlas mountains and the Ourika valley, about thirty kilometers away. The first stretch, still close to the city, concentrates residential estates with generous plots — one of the few areas where villas often come with several thousand square meters of garden.

The landscape here already turns more mineral, with the Atlas foothills as a backdrop on clear days, and the quiet is real: little traffic, no nightlife, a genuine change of pace from downtown. It's also the natural starting point for a day trip into the Ourika valley — the Setti Fatma waterfalls, Berber villages, and the Monday market at Aghbalou.

Expect a 20 to 30 minute drive to reach the Medina or Guéliz depending on the exact location, making it a sound choice for a stay centered on the villa itself rather than on city life.
